- Alternating Current (AC)
An alternating current (AC) is an electrical current whose magnitude and direction vary cyclically, as opposed to direct current, whose direction remains constant. Used generically, AC refers to the form in which electricity is delivered to businesses and residences.
- Array
see photovoltaic (PV) array
- Array Operating Voltage
The voltage produced by a photovoltaic array when exposed to sunlight and connected to a load (the demand on an energy producing system).
- Availability
The quality or condition of a photovoltaic system being available to provide power to a load. Usually measured in hours per year.
